The Firm of Bhandari, Naqvi & Riaz is one of the most qualified legal teams in Pakistan, providing comprehensive advisory, corporate, transactional and commercial litigation services to a broad spectrum of business sectors. The Firm draws on the experience of its senior member, Mr. Karamat Nazir Bhandari, who has served as a Judge on the Benches of the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan. In addition, the Firm comprises the three name partners, Uzair Karamat Bhandari, Feisal Hussain Naqvi and Iftikharuddin Riaz, and ten associates. For the last six years, the Firm has been listed by Chambers and Partners of England as one of the leading law firms of Pakistan. For 2010, all three partners have been individually named by Chambers as amongst the leading lawyers of the country, each in the Dispute Resolution section, and variously in the Corporate and Commercial section. The three partners have also received favourable reviews in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

The business of the Firm was started in 1965 by Mr. Karamat Nazir Bhandari and continued under the name of Bhandari Law Associates till his elevation to the Bench in 1994. In 1997, the practice was taken over by his son, Uzair Karamat Bhandari after his return from Oxford University where he studied law as a Rhodes Scholar and completed his B.A. Honours in Jurisprudence and B.C.L. degrees.

In 1998, the name of the Firm was changed to Bhandari & Naqvi to reflect the addition of Feisal Hussain Naqvi as a partner. After graduating from Princeton University and Yale Law School, Mr. Naqvi had worked first as an associate at the New York office of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and then at the law offices of Aitzaz Ahsan & Associates in Lahore.

In 2003, the name of the Firm was again changed to its present title to reflect the arrival of Iftikharuddin Riaz. After graduating from Oxford University, Mr. Riaz was called to the Bar from the Inner Temple. Mr. Riaz worked for a year as a lawyer in London with the Office of the General Counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Riaz has also worked as an associate with some of the best known commercial law firms in Pakistan: Rizvi Isa Kabraji, Umar Bandial & Associates and Hassan & Hassan (Advocates).

In 2006, the Firm came full circle with the return of Mr. Karamat Nazir Bhandari from the Supreme Court of Pakistan. All partners have distinguished academic records and are currently also involved in a number of extra-legal activities and working with international non-governmental organisations. All members of the Firm work in close consultation with each other, each case is discussed and monitored by all the partners, and two partners are dedicated to any major transaction or litigation, one as lead counsel and the other to provide support.
